LEAD/INTERNAL auditor course
  • The aim of this course is to provide delegates with the knowledge and skills required to perform first, second and third-party audits of occupational health and safety (OH&S) management systems against ISO 45001, in accordance with ISO 19011 and ISO/IEC 17021, as applicable.
  • Certification to ISO 45001 is not a requirement of the standard but can be a useful tool to demonstrate that you meet its criteria. If you are already certified to OHSAS 18001, and while it is a very different standard, you will already have some of the necessary tools and systems in place to implement ISO 45001.

  • The Highfield Level 2 Award in HACCP for Catering (RQF) is aimed at those working in a food catering environment and other food handlers. The qualification is intended for those already working in HACCP catering teams and those who are preparing to work in the industry.
  • Learners gaining this qualification will know that food safety is the responsibility of everyone involved in the storage, preparation, cooking service and handling of food. Its topics are regarded by the Foods Standards Agency as being important to maintaining good practice in the production of safe food.
  • This qualification is ideal for anyone working in the catering and hospitality industry (or those about to start work in the industry). Subjects covered include hazards and controls, food safety management and temperature controls, food poisoning control, personal hygiene, cleaning and disinfection, food pests, and the role of the food handler in keeping food safe.

  • The objective of this qualification is to support a role in the workplace and give learners personal growth and engagement in learning. The qualification is designed for learners who wish to progress to higher or supervisory level within a food retail business.
  • Topics include ensuring compliance with food safety legislation, the application and monitoring of good hygiene practice, how to implement food safety management procedures and the application and monitoring of good practice regarding contamination, microbiology and temperature control.
  • This qualification is aimed at anyone involved in the management of fire safety who are based in any area where there is a potential risk of fire.
  • Learners gaining this qualification will know that fire safety is the responsibility of everyone and will recognise the causes of fire as well as knowing common hazards, the steps in a fire risk assessment and how to reduce the likelihood of fires.
  • The objective of the qualification is predominantly to support a role in the workplace, however may also be suitable for younger learners preparing for employment or wishing to progress onto further learning in a related subject.
  • The objective of this qualification is to support a role in the workplace. It is a practical qualification suitable for new and experienced trainers (external and internal) who wish to improve their classroom skills and obtain a training qualification which will also enable them to deliver regulated qualifications.
  • This qualification provides a good basis to help learners get a ‘foot first’ into training. The focus is on the effective delivery of training, allowing learners to develop planning, preparation, and delivery skills, including delivery methods, questioning techniques, and time management.
  • The Level 2 International Award in Emergency First Aid at Work is a qualification aimed at providing learners with the necessary knowledge, understanding and skills to support emergency first aid in the workplace. The qualification on completion is valid for a period of 3 years, after which learners are expected to requalify. It is also recommended that annual refresher training takes place to ensure knowledge and skills are maintained.
  • The objective of this qualification is to support learners in becoming emergency first aiders in the workplace. The content of the qualification meets the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) requirements for training emergency first-aiders in those organisations that have identified that staff need to be trained to this level within their first-aid needs assessment. The qualification covers knowledge such as the roles and responsibilities of the first aider and how to assess an incident.
  • The qualification also covers first aid skills in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and use of an automated external defibrillator (AED), providing first aid to a casualty who is choking anddealing with external bleeding and hypovolaemic shock.
  • In line with guidance provided by the HSE, the qualification supports/approves work place emergency first aiders for a period of 3 years, after which point learners will need to retake the course. In addition to this, it is recommended that learners refresh their knowledge annually.
  • The objective of this qualification is to allow learners to develop their knowledge and skills in basic life support to meet the needs of their role in work, or another setting, and allows progression into further first aid training. It is recommended for first-aiders in the workplace environment who have access to a defibrillator.
  • Learners gaining this qualification will know that cardiopulmonary resuscitation and automated external defibrillation form an essential part of the chain of survival.
  • The topics covered are regarded by Skills for Health as being important in maintaining good practice in the safe, prompt and effective administration of cardiopulmonary resuscitation and automated external defibrillation. The qualification means learners should be able to safely and effectively use an automated external defibrillation machine.
  • This qualification is intended for learners already working or preparing to work in the industry and to provide candidates, who are responsible for the welfare of infants and children, with the necessary knowledge, understanding and skills to support first aid and the use of a defibrillator in the workplace.
  • Learners gaining this qualification will know that First Aid is the responsibility of everyone involved in the working environment.
  • Topics within this qualification include: understanding the role of the paediatric first aider; assessing emergency situations and acting safely and effectively; providing first aid for an infant and a child: who are unresponsive and breathing normally and who are unresponsive and not breathing normally; who are wounded and bleeding, who are suffering from shock and the safe use of an automated external defibrillator (AED).
